Description
Returned to Ithaca in the winter where the leaves have fallen to take another picture of some building at Cornell University.
The Sibley School of Mechanical Engineering, later simply Sibley Hall, was built in three phases.
The first building, built in 1870, was the western part (left side); it was centered on the northern part of the Arts Quad. An identical second building was built a short distance east of it in 1894 (right side). Then in 1902 the center part (which includes the dome) was built, connecting them. Engineering moved out of Sibley and Architecture College relocated from White Hall during the 1950s.
Note that the Foundry, the building behind Sibley, was built 1883; Rand in 1911; and Milstein in 2011.
