Great Blue Heron Couple
This species usually breeds in colonies, in trees close to lakes or other wetlands. Adults generally return to the colony site after winter from December (in warmer climes such as California and Florida) to March (in cooler areas such as Canada). Usually colonies include only great blue herons though sometimes they nest alongside other species of herons. These groups are called heronry (a more specific term than "rookery"). I am watercolor artist . I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. I have a degree in Architecture, specializing in interior decorating. After moving to the USA I took up watercolor painting and paints full time. I live in Sayre, PA with my husband. As you may notice, I frequently use color to give my images a certain novel liveliness that attract the eye and gives the work its own place of prominence outside and apart from the subject of the work. My painting style is variation from Realism to Abstract. Most my subject paintings are inspirations from my travel in the world. All images ©...
