Description
Travel memories to Venice few years ago. The locations was in Piazza San Marco facing of Basilica di San Marco and The Courtyard of the Ducal Palace of Urbino.
Basilica di San Marco, is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice, northern Italy. It is the most famous of the city's churches and one of the best known examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture. It lies at the eastern end of the Piazza San Marco, adjacent and connected to the Doge's Palace. Originally it was the chapel of the Doge, and has only been the city's cathedral since 1807, when it became the seat of the Patriarch of Venice,[1] archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice, formerly at San Pietro di Castello.[2]
For its opulent design, gold ground mosaics, and its status as a symbol of Venetian wealth and power, from the 11th century on the building has been known by the nickname Chiesa d'Oro (Church of gold).[3]
The Courtyard of the Ducal Palace of Urbino or Courtyard of Honor is the fulcrum of the Renaissance palace by Federico da Montefeltro, created by Luciano Laurana between 1466 and 1472. For sober decoration inspired by the ancient, the rhythmic alternation between full and Empty spaces and numerous architectural details, the courtyard is one of the emblematic achievements of the prosperous culture of the Uprising Renaissance.

Lovely, Melly. I love the touch of humans throughout this image, and the way you treated the old architecture. So mellow and ancient feeling. lf
